Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with old origins. Built on the old Chinese tile game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the eastern with the western in an awesome game for new players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player vs. the house, not like almost all other poker games that players wager with other players. By competing against the dealer, new players don’t have to worry about other, more advanced individuals taking their cash.
Another Pai Gow advantage is the fairly slow game pace, newcomers can take their time and scheme while not having to make hasty selections.
It is also much simpler to gamble on for a long time with only a small amount of cash seeing as, to lose, both of your hands must be under both of the dealer’s hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card common deck and one joker. The player is given seven cards face up and the dealer is dealt seven cards face down.
One 5 card hand and a 2 card hand have to be made from the 7 cards, the five card hand must be higher than the 2 card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand totals to be larger than the dealer’s.
