Suited is greater than not (and only two cards suited is fine, but don’t chase a lower flush–it will be beat) as well as straight cards. Ace-two-King-Jack and Ace-two-seven-eight are both much far better hands than ace-three-nine-seven. Do not play as it looks like there might be one thing; that’s how you give away your cash.

Play ultra-conservative, bide your time, and push difficult whenever you hit your hand to cash in. Play like that, and you are going to be amazed how significantly your chip stack can improve, even with only two or 3 hands an hour. Let gamblers and pros argue over strategy, just play like a rock and within the extended run you may appear out ahead.
