Caribbean Poker Regulations and Pointers

Online poker has become world celebrated recently, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years several variations on the first poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with blackjack than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the house instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little bluffing or different types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the dealer declares "No more wagers." At that moment, both you and the bank and of course every one of the other gamblers acquire 5 cards. Once you have looked at your hand and the casino’s initial card, you must in turn make a call bet or give up. The call wager’s value is equal to your beginning wager, which means that the risks will have doubled. Bowing out means that your ante goes instantly to the bank. After the wager comes the face off. If the house doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, including a sum in accordance with the ante. If the dealer does have ace/king or greater, you win if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The casino pays out money even with your ante and set expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
